 We live in a very stimulating time. But stress & thoughts have no business taking our precious time to rest. "All work is half rest," and that is the key to maintaining our well-being. 


I grew up with a mother who suffered from insomnia for many years, and lately, I see the effect that sleep deprivation has in my group of friends. I created these bitters with a bunch of herbs that promote calming, unwinding, and the ability to catch beautiful, sweet zzz's.

My bitters aren't typical potions. They're formulated through a process of creating a concentrated herbal syrup using local honey, and fusing it with my own made-in-house tinctures.* The result is a bitter-but-sweet elixir that can be added to a beverage, or taken straight up. 
Rest Well Bitters are a great addition to a cup of tea or hot toddy.

Ingredients are all organic/ethically sourced:

Herb blend that includes Valerian, Chamomile, California Poppy, Passionflower, Milky Oats, & Oatstraw
+
Local Honey
Tincture* blend

I make all my tinctures with Local Organic Everclear and & Organic/Ethically-Harvested Herbs. 

This comes in a 1 oz. violet glass bottle with dropper.

*Tinctures are a decoction of plants in alcohol, so that the botanical constituents get extracted into the alcohol. If someone is avoiding alcohol entirely, tinctures should be avoided unless they specifically say they are made with glycerin instead.

Some info about the herbs within:

Passionflower: mildly sedative properties, antispasmodic, anti-inflammatory, relaxing nervine that relieves cerebral irritation

Chamomile: restorative tonic for the nervous system, mild sedative for nervousness & nightmares

Catnip: nervine, especially good with children and for folks who suffer from insomnia

Milky Oats: alleviates both physical and emotional fatigue, supports a deeply refreshing sleep

Oatstraw: nourishing and nurturing, especially for the nervous system, good for alleviating stress

Valerian: a lovely sedative herb that helps us fall asleep

California Poppy: alleviates tension and facilitates both going to sleep, and remaining asleep so as to wake up refreshed, calm, and happy
