As I learned about shifting language away from the ubiquitously appropriated name of "smudge sticks," and as the request from the the Indigenous community to stop using white sage, I must have desired a pause and recalibration. Even though I never included white sage in my smoke bundles (they were all made from fallen doug fir, cedar, juniper, and wildflowers) I'm glad that I stepped away from crafting this medicine for this time.
I'm equally as glad and grateful to have crossed paths with the Adamah collective- fellow queer jewish witches- who are local and aware and happen to make truly special smoke medicine bundles for cleansing spaces. It seems that lately I'm being taught a lot about where to let go of my endless work lists and how to delegate to folks who can compliment my offerings. So I'm choosing to continue my pause of making smoke bundles, and source them from my new friends...
Western Red Cedar & Yarrow smoke bundles are here for you and your spaces, appropriately!
